Create a game quickly

Suppose I like to play at 5m+8s time control. But occasionally I accept a seek with faster time control. After playing this game the system offers a 'New opponent' button, but wait: this new game will be created with the settings of the current game rather than my preferred settings.

What to do?

I discovered that by adding the above link as a bookmark and clicking on it, I can instantly create a new game with my preferred settings.

Also when lichess is not already open in the browser or a lichess page other than the seek page is open, I can spare one click: instead of opening lichess ( or going to the seek page from an other lichess page ) and then creating a game, I can instantly create a game starting from a blank page.

You cannot add this bookmark in the usual way, because if you click on the link the browser immediately switches the location, there is no time to bookmark it.

What you can do is create a dummy bookmark of any lichess page and then manually change the url address to the above ( of course it is also advisable to edit the name of the bookmark ).

What to do is stop playing 5+8 blitz lol. What a ridiculous time control. That's not even chess.

There is one mistake in my post.

Of course I had to do the bookmarking in the way I described it for the first time.

But now that the link is available in the OP you can simply right click on it in the browser and from the context menu select "Bookmark this link" ( on Firefox ) or something similar.
