Leave the game

It really grinds my gears when someone leaves the game just because they're losing. Why not face the defeat like a man (or a woman)?
What's the difference? You win either way. Sure, it's not exactly stellar sportsmanship, but there's hardly any appreciable difference between leaving and forfeiting.
well it is really annoying but sometimes they dont have much time to waste and they dont want to waste the time for you to checkmate them.
When they just "leave," they force you to sit there until they time-out -- which matters to most of us in a rated game -- otherwise they will get a "win" if you call it quits.
I've had two players walk away, leaving me having to wait nine minutes both times, today.
For some reason, lichess did not detect that they had left the games (which would normally allow you to claim victory and get on with your life).
It's the coward's way and shows contempt for other players!
I just had an "Anonymous" player pull a new asshole tactic out of the rage walk-off playbook.
Not only did he walk-off, but he added two full minutes of time on my clock before he left.
So, now not just being inconsiderate, we now have these morons deliberately being douchebags :(
There must be a way to deal with these guys?

Open a new tab and do something else until his time runs out. Hardly ever bothers me anymore ...
I have kind of the opposite problem. Today I joined a game with 3 hours each. We played a couple of moves and then i took a 10 min break, because I got an important phone call. When I came back, I found out that I "left" the game and that I lost! Surely, it should be ok to spend over 10 mins on a move in 3 hour time controls!
"Why would your opponent adding time to your clock matter when they leave the game?"

Because they walked-off, instead of resigning.
Therefore, they added two more minutes to the time I had to wait to win the game (which I would "lose" if I resigned in order to leave and not wait).

Remember, this was done deliberately.
#9 LOL but you just make a move and then their time runs down... you won't wait any longer :D
