@Neverness , In science, there can be controversial belief based on theories.
For example, string theory vs quantum theory, they do have their own theories and evidences.
Same category as God and Russell's Teapot. They MAY exist, but you can't demonstrate that existence. I lack belief, but don't discount the possibility.

Actually, think of it this way. How did we get the idea of God? Yes, a well known priest would have told us. However, did he have any proper evidence? I think not. As well as that, if god showed himself in the myths, then why not now?
