becoming GM is impossible

You might have heard that nothing is impossible so if it was impossible to become a GM there would be no Grand master in the world of chess. As you said that you are not able to beat even a CM, but see this game lichess.org/dvAFKZwX/white#48 in which I beat an FM and if you know about chess titles you will se that FM i.e. Fide Master is a higher title than CM i.e. Candidate master. So it mostly depends upon your "Attitude" when you are playing a game with a high or a titled player. If you have seen than in your own games you might have defeated a low rated player than yours so it was possible because before the game started you had that positive attitude that you can beat your opponent. I think I wrote a long story lol so I will conclude now.
Either way, I have trained more than most GMs probably. If you are old your fate is sealed (in terms of becoming GM)
Becoming a GM is a very hard work, provided you are very talented. If you are not, then you can only get to maybe 2000 lichess.
When Larry Remlinger became an IM in his 50s it caused somewhat of an sensation back then but Improvement in chess has taken on new possibilities since the amount of information out there is tremendous nowadays . Self-Taught has taken on a new meaning but is only possible with true love of Chess as Most GMs had extensive coaching ... Fischer said he did it alone
And Larry Remlinger built a good basis when he was a kid:
"In 1953 and 1954 Larry Remlinger won the Dittman Trophy for the top chess player 15 or under in the U.S. Junior Championship."

Nihar, you're a 1200 lichess rated chess player. You won't be able to give a CM any trouble for years, even if you were to quit everything else in life and just train chess 16 hours per day it would still take years. Sorry for the dose of reality, but CMs have put many years into chess to get to where they are.
