Help with Skid vs. Mac Program error- Experienced Computer People Welcome

I have for about a year now kept all of my games on Skid vs. Mac.

For those that don't know, when you create a database, three files are created: [file].sn4, [file].sg4, and [file].si4.

I accidentally deleted my .si4 file. Is there any way to recover my games? Now when I want to access the files, it tell me "Error opening game file" and can't open my database. I'm very worried. Can somebody please recommend something?
By googling
www.google.com/search?q=mac+restore+a+deleted+file
i found eg:
http://www.wikihow.com/Recover-Accidentally-Deleted-Files-in-OS-X

The following link is also interesting - even if it is for windose - because it explains why on some hard drives recovery may not be possible:
http://www.howtogeek.com/169344/how-to-recover-a-deleted-file-the-ultimate-guide/

Most important: The .si4 file is currently just unlinked, the space it occupies can be overwritten! So stop creating new files immediately! Also download software from the internet using another computer, put it on a USB stick and install it from there! The .si4 file may otherwise really be overwritten, which makes it very difficult to recover it.

I did not try these tools (i do backups ...), hope it works for you.

Good Luck!
Agreed, it's important to stop using the Mac immediately and attempt to recover the file, unless anyone knows some special property of .si4 files which simplifies re-creating them.
Unfortunately, the file must have been deleted weeks ago, so there's no hope of a recovery.

When I first made the files, I foolishly put them on my desktop and in order for them to be activated by the program, I had to keep them on the desktop. I must have accidentally deleted the files when I was cleaning it up.

My only chance is to do something with the files I have left.

I appreciate the comments, though.
Even if it was deleted weeks ago, there is hope with a recovery program. Try it!!!!

Also, When you delete something off the desktop the default is that it goes to your trash. Are you sure it's not in there?
Free ones can be easily found on Google. Many of the best paid programs also have limited day trial versions, and since you only need to do it once you have nothing to lose by using them.

I recommend trying a couple of different ones as when I've done it before some found things that others didn't. In my case I recovered some pictures from over a year ago, so you should definitely try it now.
