Stockfish says that for move 5 and 6, a4 would have been best. Why, what advantage does it give?
seems like quite a minimal thing regardless, but it probably has something to do with preventing black from harassing the LSB with the knight (bc of the a2 square that is freed)

Normal and correct advice is to ignore engine suggestions this early on and look at an opening book instead.

There are some position where there are lots of OK moves and the computer likes one of them
