Winter Marathon 0 inaccuracies game

Hehe, actually I wanted to draw because it was dead draw (had he not blundered). But the server did strange things at the time so I clicked on accept draw and nothing happened lol
This is very impressive in fact - 52 moves without single mistake.
Congratulations !

Congrats ! :-)

Though I do disagree with Stockfish here.
B..^h^h ... not so very good opening play by white.

Black was better for at least some 20 moves.

What exactly do you dislike in the opening?
Yeah, I am not playing main lines but I felt I wasn't behind. Sure black equalized on move 2 but then it's playing chess. And as said I don't think white was ever behind (though of course it was dead draw).

The whole g2g3, Bg2 Bxe4 Bg2 loses quite some time.
And black could have played much better by postponing Nf6.

6...Bxe2 is typical for some Caro-Kann players. Develop Bc8 and trade as soon as possible.
In this case rather pointless.
To give up the bishop pair one should have some reason.
I see no reason here :)

Instead of 14...Qf6?! black could have played Qa5!? with more pressure on all the isolated white queenside pawns.

For the isolated and doubled pawns, white only has compensation by having the nice bishop.
But the position is semi closed, the black knight can become quite strong.
With all the rooks and queens traded black could win the ending provided that the black king is active.

My point is : Stockfish gives you 0/0/0 as result for white in this game, but that is imho flawed.

No reason to party a lot ! ;-)

Hmm, I do like that one much better.

Question : What do you play on Nc3-a4 Qc7 (instead of b7b6) intending b7b5 ?

Bb2-a3 or ?
