@chrst53650 Magnus played on a totally new account again: 'manwithavan'. His most used account is 'DrDrunkenstein', but he played Lichess Titled Arena 6 with the account 'damnsaltythatsport'.
And a big thanks to Lichess for arranging it, all the titled players participating and all the streamers and especially ChessNetwork and FM Barth who makes the tournament a pleasure to watch for me!
Magnus Carlsen is much weaker than he used to be. The reason might be that he has got a girlfriend, leaving no time to study chess.
magnus is my neighbour at home and i always tells him to teach me chess when he is free but his ego wont allow him, i hope fabi beats him in november i would go laugh at his doorsteps

the guy finish 3rd in a 1min bullet tournament with a serious lag and playing on a phone and your first reaction is: magnus got weaker xD
He is not any weaker, that's the other superGM who managed to adapt to his playstyle in classical,making things harder for him...and he still win often.
Congrats to Mutdpro. He played a hell of a tournament. And just wow, Magnus was 10 min away from winning another titled arena and he was playing on his phone, simply amazing. I started following Manwithavan from the start of the tourney, but the quality of the games and the style of playing did not make it too obvious that this was Magnus. However, at one point he got winning streak and you could not deny any longer that there was only one man who could make those moves. Thank you Lichess team. This site is the best!
That's ok. Magnus Carlsen has a very beautiful girlfriend. Most chess players will never have any girlfriend. The beautiful ones are usually available only for football players.
Magnus Carlsen has won already. Now, if he also loses in World Championship match with Fabiano Caruana, he might quit playing competitive chess and focus on starting family, raising kids and and teaching chess.
Why does Magnus use anonymous account ?
Does it help him secure more wins because:
1. Players would be willing to go for sharp positions, trying gambits and sacrifices they wouldn't probably, if they knew who they are up against.
2. Players would not go for drawish lines, trying to somehow secure a draw against him.
Or, Does it reduce his chances for winning because:
A. Players would be willing to go for sharp lines and would readily punish his mistakes and blunders, without doubting their own self. (for example, if they know before it is Magnus, then a blunder made by World Champion??... nah, there must be some tactic behind, say, checkmate in X moves -- too much confidence in your opponent, better play safe!). Being a psychological game also, it is indeed a big factor.
B. Players would be more creative and less intimidated, will move faster and give their best, against anonymous GM.
Somebody also mentioned because when he plays using his usual account, he gets spammed a lot while play which is an additional distraction.
