Well, I'm not sure. I was going for a plate of a throated hooking shield duel from Hans Talhoffer's Fechtbuch, but I gave my copy of that away and was unable to find anything from it with a 5 second google search. Thus, I just used the first imgur result that popped up. "Close enough", says I.

FWIW, it does look fairly authentic to me. They really did use shields like that in German trials-by-combat.

EDIT: Can you believe that chicks don't immediately fall in love with me when I tell them stuff like this?

Well if you lived back in those days and wore the armour you probably would have an admirer or two.

Going by my ancestry I would have been one of the peasants though , so no armor for me 8( .
