Chess Social Network for the Serious Lichess.org Users

I've built a social networking platform that integrates Lichess and Social. It's not like any other chess page as it is pure social with an open API. No fees, no ads, no hassle. You can embed the whole site in your website :)

Can someone let me know if this is a virus? Thanks, cheers!

Also does this work in real life? As in i can hook up (as in play chess with) to people in chess tabletops all around the world? Cheers!
A website is never a virus thibault, are you sure?! I've heard of people getting viruses from clicking on website links!

Anywho, I visited the site (taking thibault's word, not comfortable going to a site named "VirusTotal", sorry Henry!) and can't find out how to meet players in my area, any help with this??

Cheers!
You're paranoid about viruses yet you use Windows and a popular browser (i'm guessing here)
Plawo well it is a social network so you talk to people online there and make friends and chess partners or you get your friends to join and can chat and play as you will.

The difference is you don't have to be logged into Lichess to stay connected. You can be following chess news or blogging or whatever and post a challenge on a url in the timeline and get a game. It's not better it's just different. :)
it is a wrapper around sites by other people who have done all the work (content) already, plus it provides a Foobook connect button. Acts as if it was part of Internet Chess Club which it is not. On the other hand, to download a file one has to be logged in.

The social parts, Blogs, News, Forum are mostly provided by third parties or users.

The community aspect is well meant but i dislike that you steal content from other sites. The internet has links for that. Without these contents the website would fit into one document.

---
Webdev hint, it reloads the big 100kb logo on every reload. Thats probably because it does not add the last-modified header.
@awesomer wow. a wrapper around sites by other people content? Did you spot any of our own content while you were whizzing around the site. We produce content which is user generated and guess what the more users we have the more content we will produce.

I simply don't get the Internet Chess Club part of your comment, makes no sense. Chess Club Live is nothing to do with ICC and never has been. Neither do we pretend to be them or use their logo as our logo. So you need to explain that one better.

Social parts blogs, news, forum are mostly provided by 3rd party or users. There are no 3rd party blogs on the site, a blog is a user driven content creating process, you should know that.

The news is a feed we built based on sourcing API from our news page and other chess news pages. That is the whole basis of RSS or didn't you know that?

"Steal content from other sites" - I guess the share button should be renamed "steal button". Embedded widgets renamed "Stolen Content" and so on. lol

Social Media Design hint, Facebook offers API for linking to their site as it reduces the need for local registration. Facebook is dominated by user content and 3rd party pages but nobody would say Facebook stole the content even though in their TOS they say all content once loaded to Facebook is now theirs content to use as they will.

Webdev support hint. I'd be less worried about the 100KB and more worried about the 100 MB audio file playlist autoloading on some users profiles. Web 3.0 is here bro :)

By "steal content" i am not talking about the behaviour-tracking foobook-button. I am talking about loading other websites into your own website, using frames, pretending it is your own content, instead of linking to those external websites. Just because it may be legal it does not become cool. People are not stupid, Simon.

ICC imitation: Ah i see, you have no idea, let me explain: I am talking about the logo on top of your website. Compare with

Also, in case you was not aware of that: Your site also imitates the layout of foobook.

Lets be honest, Simon, you have no own ideas and you just want to earn a bit money without working much *twinkle*.

webdev support hint: Ok, sorry, i am now aware that you dont know web devolopment or how it is written. Please forward my comment to the dude in your team who does the magic things with his keyboard.

Simon: Dont say 'web 3.0'.
