Bringing bughouse to lichess??!

As it's been stated before in this same thread, such a variant would require an enormous amount of work to implement and I'm not entirely sure the payoff would be worth it...
There are already plenty of variants on Lichess. It is very difficult to find an opponent in Racing Kings, King of the Hill, and Horde for example. It looks like new variants do not justify any work whatsoever by developers. Can anyone explain why chess variants are so not popular here compared to standard chess?
Even for CrazyHouse, the most popular variant here, there are 12 times fewer players than Classical chess. It's understandable why developers do not want to bring new variants.
I mean it really is just an extension of crazyhouse... so the programming code is already there for most of it
And with 200+ players entering the weekly CrazyHouse events-- Weekly Bugouse events would be madly popular IMO
But I do see your guys' point and I imagine they have a bunch of other To Do's on their list before they could even think about bughouse. Hopefully sometime in the near future!
