How strong you need to be to make money with chess?

I run chess clubs after school and the parents pay. PTAs pay me to run chess classes during the school day. People pay me to come to their house and teach them or their child. I make week long chess summer camps for kids. I make tournaments for the kids on teacher work-days. I do online lessons. etc. etc. etc.

The average elementary school kid in most of my clubs would be rated something like 500 USCF maybe a few 1000-12000 at the very top. In this setting your ability to work with kids is 100x more important than your rating. A 1600 teacher than knows how to handle kids is perfectly fine.
NoJoke is a pretty big guy, the kind of guy I wouldn't want to fight so I made friends with him asap.
I suppose he is indeed stronger than the average teacher.
The demand for chess training isn't so high where I come from.
And yeah, you're right. The pedagogical part is very important indeed.
#31 12000 rating is pretty high. Why not have em play vs Carlsen?
I won 250 dollars last week in a amateur tournament, but that was no where near the amount of coaching cost used for me to learn chess D:
How much did you pay for coaching, tournament entry fee, chess federation membership fee, flight cost to and from tournament and hotel stay cost?
